Melbourne Design Market @ Fed Square

Melbourne CBD was certainly buzzing over the weekend. There were events happening all over the city, including the Melbourne Open House, which I did not attend due to time constraints/other commitments, maybe next year...

Din and I were in town for the Melbourne Design Market, which took place in the Federation Square car park. We had lunch at the NGV (itself a participant of the Open House and therefore very crowded) then walked over to Fed Square. It started raining on our way there and then became what I call a typical Winter's Day.

It was actually our second time at the Design Market and we spotted a few traders from the last time, including our one big weakness, stationery in the form of the Notemaker stall. We also oohed at the interesting organic coffee carts, ahhed at the amazing jewellery and clothing and after languishing in front of the Christopher Boots booth for what seemed like an eternity, picked up a Vintage Industrial Pendant (V.I.P) each (second last image). It's currently installed at the small little work desk in my room. Maybe I'll post a picture of it next time....
